From Day to Night: 5H DRS ENDURANCE SPECIAL
Saturday, 18th January 2025, is the day of this special challenge: the 5-hour DRS Special at the Kartcenter Emsbüren. This event offers a perfect mix of competition, endurance and strategy. Both experienced teams and enthusiastic amateurs are welcome to take part in this special DRS endurance race. However, there will be 2 different weight classes, namely HEAVY with 90kg and LIGHT with 70kg.
The day starts with free practice and a sprint race qualifier before the actual race begins. During the 5-hour race, the lights will be switched on on the outdoor race track and we will race until after dark. Whether you're coming to win or just for fun, this race will be an unforgettable experience for everyone.
Don't forget to register your team for the SWS for FREE. Collect extra points* in this endurance race to qualify for the Kart World Championships.
*For technical reasons, points can only be collected for the actual endurance race at the SWS, therefore qualifying and sprint races do not count for the SWS .

- Free practice + qualifying sprint race (20 minutes)
A relaxed start where you can get used to the track and the kart, but don't make any mistakes! During the practice time you will qualify for a starting place in the sprint race. Kart swaps are allowed during this session. - Sprint race + Endurance qualifying (10 minutes)
Important: Only 1 driver per team can take part in the sprint race, so coordinate with each other who will do so. The driver who drives the sprint race also starts the 5h race.
The result of the sprint race determines the starting position for the 5h endurance race. - Race (5 hours)
The endurance race starts immediately after the sprint. Plan your 8 mandatory pit stops tactically and stick to the maximum and minimum driving times. - Rules for pit stops
- Compulsory pit stops: 8 stops, each with a minimum duration of 60 seconds.
- Maximum driving time in one go (stint): 50 minutes.
- Minimum driving time in one go (stint): 10 minutes.
The number of mandatory stops is set so that the teams have to plan strategically and have room for unforeseen situations.
The team that has completed the most laps at the end of the 300 minutes is declared the winner .
